80’s Punk Nintendo Characters

Posted by Michael | Art, Illustrator | Tuesday 14 July 2009 11:29 pm

~agentscarlet on deviantART has flipped the nintendo characters Peach, Zelda and Samus into 80’s punks ladies.

By the looks of it, Peaches’ tattoo confirms it! – I KNEW Peach had somethin’ going on for Bowser…….

Chuck Brown

Drawn for a show titled MONSTERS at Copro Gallery in Santa Monica, the artist Tim O’Brien decided to deviate from the show’s intent by painting “a realistic version of something usually thought of as cute and benign” for the event instead.

This is his illustration depicting Charlie Brown if he were real.

Paper Superstars

Posted by Jackie | Illustrator, Papercraft | Thursday 11 June 2009 8:20 pm

My own version of the Adidas Superstars, made entirely of paper, from the laces to the sole. The idea was to create a container that looked like something else, but it had to function as a box of sorts. So here, the toe box [actual shoe anatomic name] pulls out to turn into a ballet flat!

Total time: 5 hours per shoe

Final note: Double sided tape is my new best friend.

It’s Business Time

Posted by Jackie | Illustrator | Tuesday 14 April 2009 8:13 pm

In prep for my grad show I’ve finally gotten around to developing my business cards. About time!
The abstract-o-blob was created in Illustrator, exhausting my memory with the gradients etc. Fun times :)

I plan to extend this to a series of buttons, potentially a set that has a blob spanning and changing across 3 or 4.

Back in December I made this in Illustrator as something fun and ridiculously nerdy for the guys for Christmas. I turned this into a silkscreen print on illustration board.
