There Will Be Brawl

Posted by Michael | Video, Video Games | Wednesday 15 July 2009 12:27 am

“In a Dystopian Mushroom Kingdom, corruption and avarice reign supreme. Even the greatest heroes of the land have buckled beneath the overwhelming will of the amoral elite. When a series of grisly crimes pushes an unlikely champion to seek the truth, a mystery unfolds that could completely destroy everything he holds dear.”

““There Will Be Brawl” is a non-profit web series designed as a dark, dramatic parody of the popular Super Smash Bros. Brawl video game for the Nintendo Wii. The Creators of the project are avid fans of Nintendo, and this series has been developed as an homage to the colorful characters of SSBB that we all know and love. Through the hard work of a talented cast and crew, and the support of our fans, we hope to continue to produce a story you will all enjoy.”

“Look for future episodes to premiere at The Escapist on the Final Friday of every month!”

Their latest episode is Episode 6 – Who To Trust:

Street Fighter IV Hacked

Posted by Michael | Anime, Video | Tuesday 14 July 2009 11:40 pm

This is pretty cool.

Now that Street Fighter IV has been released for the PC, some PC users have come up with creative ways to deviate its characters.

What they did to Sakura’s face looks terrible,

but Zangief’s winning pose looks even worse!

DEADLINE

Posted by Michael | Art, Video | Wednesday 17 June 2009 11:34 am

DEADLINE is a stop-motion film created by Bang-yao Liu for his senior project at Savannah College of Art and Design. He uses an insane amount of post-its (not as much as this though) to create this short clip. Just imagine all the tedious work and accuracy of putting each post-it in its place to create this pixelated-like film… o.0!

“Where my idea comes from is that every time when I am busy, I feel that I am not fighting with my works, I am fighting with those post-it notes and deadline. I manipulating the post-it notes to do pixel-like stop motion and there are some interactions between real actor and post-its.”

Will Ferrell On Man Vs. Wild

Posted by Michael | Comedy, Video | Saturday 13 June 2009 8:24 pm

Will Ferrell graced Discovery Channel with a first ever guest appearance on the show Man Vs. Wild. Ready to face a cold, harsh environment, he joins Bear Grylls to get a taste of survival and to promote his film Land of the Lost. The setting was shot in Northern Sweden where both men faced the blistering weather together, shared a cave together, and ate a meal of reindeer eyeballs together. (but not the emergency twinkie ration – you snooze, you lose! -what’s that you say? You ventured off to find us wood for a camp fire? d’aaawwwwwwwww I feel sho bad now………..but this twinkie just tayshe sho good!)

If you’re a typographic nerd like myself, you would thoroughly enjoy a glance at a snapshots collection of the end titles of movies. This flickr pool’s pretty fantastic, and a lot of the ones they’re showing are beyond cool, or just funny. Have a look!: Dun dun dunnnn.
