I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything… I swear it was because of school and not senseless drinking! Anywho. I’m here to talk about this little gem called SPORE and what it can do. Created by Will Wright, it begs the question of whether it will be a fad or will it have the same impact as The Sims? SPORE in the simplist term is a creature creator engine where you, the user, get to customize your creature anyway you see fit.
Here’s my creature:

This guy is bipedal with an unsually large head with a massive underbite, to compensate, that spike ball thingy on his tail keeps him balanced and adds an extra level of offense. Hands to grab food… the arms seem too short eh? And studs on the back for some armour.
What’s interesting about SPORE is you can create so many different creatures depending on what parts you want to use, where you place it, the length/size of the part, etc. After you create your minion you can paint it and whatever. So far only the creature creator is released, but a full game is out and September. With that version you can let your creature thrive in its virtual world to potential evolve into a more complex/refined version of itself depending on its environment.
I’m oddly excited for this game, it’s just something different after blowing shit up for days on end.
